In today’s society we strive for perfection. We
try our hardest to look like a fashion model, or a particular movie star, or to live up to someone else’s
expectations. When we fall short of our goals we begin to punish ourselves. With hardened hearts
and closed minds we are doomed to spiritual death. In the anguish of this doom, we try to hide the pain and
misery resulting from this spiritual death. We try to mask the problem, but this does not fill the void in
our souls left by submitting to this slavery, it only makes it worse! Jesus does not expect us to be perfect, he only
wants each one of us to do the best we can at following the law of God, and walking in the Spirit.
Things might look hopeless. Your goals may seem
unobtainable. You may think it impossible to achieve goals you desire. The Lord reminds us that there is a
way to meet these needs in our lives -
"Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26, NIV)
Believe in Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord to come into
your heart, and you will live eternally in His Kingdom.
